8-Month-Old Had Ibuprofen Tablet in Mouth – Is It Dangerous?
My 8-month-old was found with a 600 mg ibuprofen tablet in her mouth about 30 minutes ago. We got the pill out. She hasn’t had any symptoms and has eaten since then. Should I be concerned?

Ingesting a small amount or just sucking on a 600 mg ibuprofen tablet in a baby this age is unlikely to cause harm. Since she’s asymptomatic, has eaten, and the pill was mostly recovered, no treatment is needed. Monitor at home for any vomiting, fussiness, or stomach upset over the next few hours. If anything unusual develops, go to the ER.
