A 2-year-old may have swallowed one Vaginal Suppository

My 2-year-old son, who weighs about 30 pounds, may have swallowed one 600 mg vaginal suppository about 10 minutes ago. He isn’t showing any symptoms right now. What should I do?

A child ingested a 600 mg vaginal suppository and is currently asymptomatic. Although no toxicological effects are expected from this exposure, supportive care is advised. The child should be given fluids and offered a healthy snack. Caregivers should monitor for any signs of gastrointestinal upset. If symptoms develop or worsen, the child should be taken to the emergency room for evaluation or call the poison center.
