My 3-Year-Old Possibly Ingested or Touched Nail Glue – Is This an Issue?
Hi, I need some recommendations. My 3-year-old son may have gotten into a bottle of Olive and June nail glue. I am not sure how much, but he may have ingested some—or maybe he had some on his face? He seems fine right now—no symptoms. What should I do?

HEY LALIT Generaly Nail glue products, like Olive and June nail glue, are typically made of cyanoacrylate, which quickly hardens on contact with moisture, including the skin or mucous membranes.
Here is what to do:
If it is possible it was ingested: • Rinse his mouth out thoroughly with water. • Give a few sips of water or milk. • Watch for any drooling, coughing, trouble swallowing, or discoloration of his lips (rarely, it may cause transient cyanosis or irritation).
If he has glue on his face or skin: • Do not pull or try to forcibly remove the glue. • Instead, rub olive oil or vegetable oil on the area over time to loosen it. • Do not use acetone or other harsh chemicals, particularly near the mouth or eyes.
Watch for: • Lip or mouth irritation • Difficulty breathing or swallowing • Redness or swelling of the skin
If any of these symptoms develop—or you are worried—go to the ER immediately.
