9-Year-Old May Have Been Given 0.25 mg Xanax by Mistake – No Symptoms
My 9-year-old daughter, who weighs about 64 pounds and has ADHD, may have been given the wrong medication. She was given one 0.25 mg tablet of Xanax. She isn’t showing any symptoms right now. What should I do?

A child mistakenly swallowed one 0.25 mg tranquilizer generic drug, Xanax, and is asymptomatic. It’s suggested that the child get supportive care and offer as much fluids to drink and a healthy snack to eat. The child’s condition should be observed for sleepiness or sedation. While this dose is very low, if the child develops or worsens symptoms, prompt evaluation and assessment in the emergency room is warranted.
