Title: 3-Year-Old Ingested Fabuloso – What Is the Recommended Management?

A 3-year-old female reportedly ingested some Fabuloso about 2 hours ago. She’s currently asymptomatic, at her baseline, and vitals are stable. I just want to confirm management.

Fabuloso is a multi-purpose cleaner with low concentrations of surfactants (linear alkylbenzene sulfonate 4–6%) and fragrance agents. The typical unintentional ingestion of Fabuloso does not usually cause toxicity aside from mild gastrointestinal irritation (e.g., nausea, vomiting, diarrhea) resulting from oral exposure.

She is: • Asymptomatic • 2 hours post-ingestion • Stable physiology

Therefore, the plan is: • Oral rinse, if appropriate • Oral hydration trial (sip water and monitor for tolerance) • Monitor for gastrointestinal upset in the next hour • No specific antidote or labs needed

Please re-assess if she begins to vomit, drool, or have abdominal pain. The risk for aspiration is negligible unless the volume ingested was significant or she were to vomit.
