Wasp Spray Got in Eye – Still Irritated After Rinsing

I was spraying wasp pesticide, and a drop got in the corner of my right eye—away from the tear duct. I rinsed it with water for about 15 minutes. It’s still a little red and irritated. The product was Rainbow Telco and Power Wasp & Ant Spray with pyrethrin 0.122%. Do I need to do anything else?

You’ve already completed the most important step by rinsing for 15 minutes. Mild redness, irritation, or swelling is common following this type of exposure and typically resolves with time. If the eye swells more, becomes increasingly painful, or you notice any changes in your vision—such as blurriness, sensitivity to light, or trouble keeping it open—go to the emergency department for an evaluation. Monitor for symptoms over the next few hours. No systemic toxicity is expected.
